Для того, чтобы заработала печать из терминальной сессии в Windows Server 2008 R2 на перенаправленный Host-based принтер (GDI-принтер), нужно: ^{2) 3)}

• установить драйвер принтера на сервер
• установить в Disabled значение групповой политики Computer configuration - Administrative templates - Windows components - Remote Desktop Services - Remote Desktop Session Host - Use Remote Desktop Easy Print printer driver first
• выполнить gpupdate

Чтобы печатать по сети используя протокол LPD необходимо: ⁴⁾

• На сервере (компьютере к которому подключён принтер) установить дополнительные компоненты печати:
  • Панель управления - Программы - Включение или отключение компонентов Windows
  • Выбрать Службы печати и документов (можно установить все, но необходима только Служба печати LPD)
• Windows установит и запустит демон LPD, который слушает на 515 порту
• Демон LPD позволяет печатать по сети на все локально установленные принтеры
• На клиенте необходимо установить также дополнительные компоненты LPR/LPD (необходимо только Монитор LPR портов, но можно поставить все дополнительные компоненты печати )
• Затем добавляем локальный принтер и выбираем Создать порт, тип порта - LPR порт
• Далее будет окно, в котором указываем полное FQDN имя сервера или его IP-адрес
• Также указываем полное имя принтера (например, Samsung ML-2160)
• Регистр букв не имеет значения
• Готово, можно печатать

Такое происходит при сетевой печати по протоколу RAW ⁵⁾ (обычно на TCP порт 9100), если на принтере отключен SNMP. Решений два: включить SNMP на принтере, или не использовать SNMP на клиенте.

Принтер, подключенный по HTTP нельзя переименовать через GUI, поэтому для ОС до Windows 7:

Для Windows 7 и далее можно через реестр: ⁶⁾

• запусить редактор реестра regedit от имени администратора
• перейти в раздел HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers
• переименовать ветку реестра вида ,,http://server:631/printers/printer и заменить значение строкового параметра Name на нормальное имя
• остановить net stop spooler, затем запустить net start spooler службу бечати

Well I faced the same problem. But thanks to the steps (Migper, Umca and paulEdangerous) things are sorted out. Thanks a lot guys. But I would like to outline the steps I took in an absolutely non technical fashion for more people like me. this is what i did :

1. Downloaded the following driver

You know you have the right file because if you go to Canon’s website link here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=335&modelid=11148

Select Windows 7 (x64) in the drop down

And download these drivers:
MF5730_5750_MFDrivers_Win_x64_us_EN_7.exe

2. Unzipped them in the Downloads section.

3. Made these modifications as suggested by you guys :

4. Saved these text files at their locations.

5. Plugged in the USB cable of my printer. When it did not install it properly went to the properties section. Clicked on settings and then driver update. Specified the location of the drivers mentioned above. And let windows do the rest. It did say that the drivers are not digitally signed but I went on nevertheless.

6. This installed the scanner.

7. For the printer I installed the printer driver from the same location as a new printer first and on Virtual USB port 1 as my laptop does not have an LPT or COM port.

8. Then made it the default printer and it worked.
